Dr Anna Stegman

Anna is a Civil Engineer who joined IDCORE from a commercial diving contractor, she delivered her project for the ETI and is now the Local Energy Transition Advisor at the Energy Systems Catapult

Mairi joined IDCORE as an experienced environmental scientist looking to acquire formal engineering skills and make the transition from oil and gas to the renewables industry. In 2021, after completing her EngD, she joined Xodus, an international consultancy that encompasses all aspects of offshore engineering. Her current role is a culmination of experience obtained across her whole career.

Dr David Ogden

David came into IDCORE from a first degree in Mechanical Engineering. He now works for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in the US supporting wave energy companies, building on the work he did in his IDCORE project for INNOSEA.

Dr David Young

"I feel fortunate to have found IDCORE – it allowed me to continue my academic career but in a far more applied context and without having to follow the classical PhD route. It also allowed me to pursue my joint interests in engineering and the environment.”

Dr Rebecca Williams

Rebecca was a member of the fist cohort to be trained by IDCORE and is now a Senior Portfolio Manager with our funders, the EPSRC. Delivering a research project in a pressurised commercial environment, taught her influencing skills that she still uses on a daily basis.

Dr Andrea Ciao

Dr Inès Tunga

Inès joined IDCORE at a turning point in her career. As a mature student and new mother, she found an environment that valued her experience and skills and grew her confidence. She is now the Renewables Practice Manager at the Energy Systems Catapult.

Dr Leah Barker Ewart

Leah describes her move to IDCORE as a ‘sideways step’, providing excellent training and specific knowledge that facilitated a move from Civil Engineering consultancy into the offshore renewables sector, she now applies her structural engineering skills to offshore renewables projects.

Dr Diana Jeleňová

Diana used IDCORE to re-train as an engineer and access roles in the renewables sector after a first degree in Chemistry. She is a Senior Consultant with Wood, the company that sponsored her EngD project.

Dr Daniel Milano

Daniel leads on floating offshore wind numerical modelling and simulation at the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult. He came to IDCORE from the oil and gas industry and delivered his project for EDF.
