Leah describes her move to IDCORE as a ‘sideways step’, providing excellent training and specific knowledge that facilitated a move from Civil Engineering consultancy into the offshore renewables sector, she now applies her structural engineering skills to offshore renewables projects.

"I feel fortunate to have found IDCORE – it allowed me to continue my academic career but in a far more applied context and without having to follow the classical PhD route. It also allowed me to pursue my joint interests in engineering and the environment.”

David came into IDCORE from a first degree in Mechanical Engineering.  He now works for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in the US supporting wave energy companies, building on the work he did in his IDCORE project for INNOSEA.

Diana used IDCORE to re-train as an engineer and access roles in the renewables sector after a first degree in Chemistry.  She is a Senior Consultant with Wood, the company that sponsored her EngD project.
