Educational and professional background

I hold Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Hydraulics and Ocean Engineering from National Cheng Kung University. My research has centred on offshore renewable energy, particularly floating wind. During my studies, I focused on mooring system design and completed several projects, including scaled-down hydraulic model experiments. Additionally, I interned at RWE Renewables Taiwan, where I gained valuable insights into marketing, business and development. This experience broadened my perspective on the offshore wind industry, integrating technical expertise with commercial acumen.

What attracted you to studying with IDCORE?

My attention was drawn to IDCORE programme for its strong industrial focus. The opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience through industry partnerships is invaluable to me, as it bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world challenges. Plus, studying abroad has always been my dream. The IDCORE programme not only offers excellent education but also the chance to explore new cultures and perspectives, enriching my personal and professional growth.

What attracted you to the renewable energy sector? What aspects of the industry do you find most inspiring, interesting, or important for the future?

My interest in renewable energy sparked during a course on climate change impact and adaptation. Renewable energy sector plays an important role in mitigating climate change and fostering a sustainable future.

Also, I believe that practical implementation is a critical extension of theoretical feasibility towards building a more resilient future. This aligns perfectly with my initial decision to join the IDCORE programme.
