EngD Project Area: Electro-mechanical quick connection system (QCS) for Offshore Renewables

Leigh graduated from the University of Strathclyde in 2018 with a master’s degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. She has previously worked predominantly in full-scale destructive testing for the oil & gas industry. Leigh has a passion for working towards a sustainable future and is keen to transfer her knowledge into the growing renewable energy industry.

Leigh started the IDCORE programme in September 2022 and since then has completed modules in various topics relating to offshore renewable energy. While at Quoceant, Leigh will be completing the next stage of the programme with the goal of achieving her Engineering Doctorate (EngD) in 2026. Her project involves working on the development of the Q-Connect, Quoceant's marine quick connection system, for use with floating offshore wind technology.
